Practice
He was the Chief Notes and Comments Editor for the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal in 2006-2007. His law practice is currently in the area of business law including business formations and acquisitions, civil appellate, and advanced estate planning. His current academic interests are in corporate criminal liability, legal hermeneutics, meta-ethics, and applied ethics.
Teaching Focus
Dean Hinze鈥檚 law practice is in the area of business law, civil litigation and tax law with an emphasis in estate planning. His current academic interests are in legal hermeneutics, meta-ethics, and correlative doctrinal issues in law and theology.

Additional Information
He was a Sam Walton Fellow and advisor for SIFE at HCU and is currently the Pre-Law Advisor to the University. He also serves on the Bioethics Committee at Memorial Herman Southwest.
He was named the聽Advisor of the Year聽for 2010-2011 and was named聽Opal Goolsby Professor of the Year聽Award in 2011-2012. He was the School of Business聽Piper Professor聽Nominee in 2011-2012.
He enjoys shooting, backpacking, rock climbing, guitar, reading and writing. He is married to Patti, and they have three children and a dog: Harper, Hudson, Helena, and Sasha the Chihuahua.
