Each year, transfer students come for many reasons: the quality of our academic programs, our generous transfer merit awards, our small class sizes and low student-to-faculty ratio, and the welcoming Christian environment.

Affordability

Texas Community College Guarantee

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â has recently announced guaranteed admission for students who have completed an associate’s degree at a community college in Texas. Learn more about our agreement with local community colleges.

Admission Criteria

  • Requirements for Admission to the University

    • Minimum of a 2.0 cumulative GPA in your college classes (developmental courses are not included in GPA calculation)
    • Nursing programs require a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA and additional requirements
    • Ranking in the top half of your high school class
    • 1040 or higher on the RSAT (Math and EBRW sections combined) on the SAT or at least a 20 composite score on the ACT
    • Automatic consideration for Transfer Merit Awards* if you are transferring in 15 hours or more
    • Applicants who do not meet these standards will be reviewed on an individual basis

     

    * Transfer Merit Awards are only available to students entering in the fall or spring semesters. The merit awards for students who enter in a summer semester will begin during the fall term.

Join us for a Saturday morning visit to get a close-up look at A Higher EducationÌý»å³Ü°ù¾±²Ô²µ Saturdays at HCU. Our Admissions Counselors will host information sessions to help provide insight about life and learning here at HCU. Following the information session, enjoy exploring HCU thanks to a campus tour! Family members are welcome to attend.

What happens after I am admitted?

  • You will receive the following items in the mail:
    • Acceptance letter
    • Transfer Merit Award (eligibility dependent on 15 hours of transferable credit and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5)
    • Progress Toward Degree (PTD) explaining how all of your credits transferred.
